How to prepare your child for diagnosis

Choose a quiet time

It is better when the child is not tired and is not in a hurry - for example, a day off or an evening without other activities.

Explain the problem in simple words

You can say: “Now we will take an interesting test with pictures to understand where it will be easier and more interesting for you to play sports.”

Be there, but don't tell me

An adult is needed to help with technology (mouse, tablet, transition between tasks), but the child chooses the answers himself.

Don't turn the test into an exam

It is important that the child is not afraid to make mistakes. There are no “bad” answers here, we are just getting to know it and its features.

How to Read a Sports Potential Report

Look at the big picture

It is important not to get stuck on one indicator. Pay attention to the general profile: motivation, behavior, physical activity, attitude towards water.

Recommendations are a map, not a sentence

2-3 groups of sports are areas for reasonable testing, and not a list of “mandatory” sections.

Discuss the results with your child

Look at the report together. Ask, “Do you think this looks like you?” and “Which of these sports are you interested in trying?”

Show the report to the coach or teacher

This will help the coach better understand the child’s starting characteristics and choose the appropriate communication style and load.
